30 Days Au Naturale :The Deepest Condition
So my journey continues...
Honey is an emollient which means it seals moisture in your hair, keeping it conditioned. This reduces breakage, which is often a cause for slower hair growth.
Cleansing my hair was a breeze, I'm
pretty accustomed to the amazing cleansing and curl renewing effects that Bentonite clay provides.
But can my all natural deep conditioning game come just as strong???
Well this OG curly girl has a few more tricks up her sleeve. That's right, I took a shake at those 14 year old coily roots and what do you know? A couple of miracle fruits and spices fell out: The Amazing Avocado & a Heavenly Honey pot 🍯 . Throw in a healthy fatty oil that's coconut sensitivity friendly and a star is born: The Honey Avocado Hair Mask 🌟.
This recipe was one that I dabbled in some years back but never quite hit it off with. At the time the recipe I used included a banana and there was something about those left behind banana strings post deep condition treatment that just didn't sit quite right with me... or my scalp for that matter. I believe the original recipe I had come across had also called for a an egg. More particles left in my hair and this was protein overload city!!! 😳😳😳
I loved the shine, moisture content and definition I received not to mention the added strength 💪. But the consistency of the mixture was just too much. So I remixed an old tried and true remedy for dry, damaged, dull hair, for a newer quick and easy one that still gives you awesome results.
So as not to delay you any further, here is the recipe for hair with superior shine, reinforced strength and delectable curl definition.
DIY Avocado Honey Mask
Ingredients
1 ripe avocado, pitted and peeled
2 tablespoons- 1/4 cup raw organic honey
2 tablespoons- 1/4 cup extra virgin Olive oil
Optional- essential oil of your choice; rosemary, lavendar)
Why do these three ingredients work so well on the hair???

It has rich antioxidant properties which prevent damage, keeping your scalp and hair healthy.
Honey strengthens the hair follicles, curbing hair fall.
Olive oil adds softness and strengthens hair by penetrating the hair shaft and preserving moisture. The shine said to come from olive oil may be due to the oil smoothing the outer cuticle of the hair.
Loaded with potassium (nearly twice as much as bananas), and amino acids, this creamy power food is hard to beat. Need protein? Avocados contain about four grams, among the highest of all fruit.
Historical evidence shows that as far back as early Egypt people used avocado to prevent hair loss and as a natural moisturizer.
Directions
I mix mine with a whisk and a fork, however to save time you can always blend all ingredients in a food processor or beat them in a stand mixer until smooth and lightened in color.
Spread the mask onto damp hair, focusing on the ends. Feel free to rub it in a bit. You could pull your hair into a bun on top of your head or place them in a few braids, and put on a shower cap. Leave in for 45 minutes or for extra care over night.
Make sure to wrap your hair extra well with a tshirt to prevent any midnight mishaps. Rinse and wash hair as usual!
